Overview of #NYFW (New York Fashion Week Mercedes-Benz)

Hello Bloggers!!
Well, Fashion week has come to an end in New York City. I was so excited to see designers collections for spring 2014. All the collection were amazing and so much inspiration for an aspiring fashion designer like myself. I was pumped to see colors, prints, and different materials that the designers used. I took many notes and watch many of live videos.
One day I hope to see my collection be at Fashion Week. I was invited to some events  but I couldn't attend "sad face". I love everything about fashion week from the amazing collections to the street style. It will be a dream come true to actually attend events and share the experience with other fashion fiends. Come back tomorrow as I talk about my favorite designer collections and other juicy topics from #NYFW.

LaLa Anthony x 5th and Mercer

Happy Saturday To All,

Two days ago, LaLa and her stylist Jason Bolden launch some new exclusive pieces from there clothing line 5th and Mercer. Hot or Hmm??

Let me just start off my saying LaLa always looks stunning going to every event. Her glam squad seems to never disappoints me! From head to toe Mrs. Anthony always is in an elegant statement garment.

LaLa and Jason Bolden release a dressy jumpsuit a while ago and the hit celebs were spotted in the 5th and Mercer black and white wide leg jumpsuit. Don't get me wrong I love a jumpsuit. Very versatile  mixed with comfort and style.

Take a look at some of the pieces from there line!

Very plain and basic but still has some stylish things, the pants with the stripes and pencil skirt with the gold back zipper. In my opinion we all have seen this before!!! Why do celebrities have clothing lines? For extra money? I'm sorry I'm not please.

I've saw these styles over and over again! Yes I believe these style can be worn as a selective elegant garment but its nothing that will scream "I have to have that" the collection is pretty much boring.

If the viewers are getting confused these are my opinions for my fashion blog! Please be mindful of that. I'm such a fan if both LaLa Anthony and Jason Bolden but I know the could of done better. But I have to agree and say I love the brand name "5th and Mercer".

More looks

Available on Shopbop.com
Hope you have enjoyed this post. Please comment to tell me if the new pieces from 5th and Mercer is amazing or not.

Happy 78th Birthday Grandma!

Hey Bloggies!

This post I will get a little personal! This post still will have some fashion talked about in this post.

Happy 78th Birthday to my lovely grandmother. Wow! She's simply blessed. God is truly amazing. Spending time with my grandmother over the years has been an amazing experience as I got older it has been even better.

We would have slumber parties just us two, full of good meals and snacks. "Licks Lips" (LOL). Good conversations and just laugh until we fall asleep.

This woman means so much to me I'm thankful that I have a bond with her.

I told her I was gone to feature her on my blog today she said, "Ok Ta" my Queen, My Grandmother, my older BFF. Love you and enjoy your day.

P.S. I truly believe that I get my fashion sense from her. So elegant even on her down days. My fashionable grandmother.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN TO MY CECE /CEOLA

Angela Simmons x Henri Bendel 2013

Hey Bloggies,

Yesterday I had the time of my life. So, I headed to NYC with a couple of my friends. We got on the train and headed to the big apple.

I was so amped to attend Angela Simmons launch party for her amazing website, that has clothing, accessories, shoes, and extensions!! I must say she's building an empire.

As she enter the event she caught everybody off guard! Talking in front of all her supporters I thought to myself anything is possible. Having tons of people wanting to meet her. But I was there for another reason. As Angela wanted to take pictures with all her supporters I squeezed my way through the crowd b/c I was there for a purpose. As I got Angela's attention I introduce myself. I said, Hi my name is Tatiana Myers and I'm a aspiring designer. I gave her my shirts of the TDM Brand, took a picture with her and the rest was history. Leaving the event with a least one accomplishment check off my list. Now only time will tell. Will Angela Simmons wear my shirts? Will she acknowledge me for such a brave person I was? Who knows.

Fitness!

All about a healthy lifestyle. I'm not the healthiest person nor do I eat healthy all the time. But I want to change my eating habits.

Although healthier foods cost more, healthy food helps through out your life!

Exercising- Does exercising work? Can you still eat unhealthy and still lose weight while exercising? Many people have different techniques of working out but what actually help?

Ladies it's summertime, so let's get our bodies fit!

 Best Workouts Tips

1. Make Over Your Running RoutineUnless you're training for a marathon, skip long, slow, distance running -- sprinting builds more muscle. Add a few 10- to 60-second sprints to your run, slowing down just long enough to catch your breath between them.

2. Paddle Your Way to Flatter AbsGo kayaking to get a taut stomach -- it's ideal because much of your rowing power comes from your core. Mimic the motion and resistance of the water at home by looping an exercise band around the bottom of a table leg or other fixed object. Sit on the floor with legs extended, knees slightly bent; grasp one end of the band in each hand. Rotate your torso to one side as you bring the elbow back slightly, then switch sides. Do three sets of one to three minutes each.

3. Maximize Your CrunchesDon't relax your abs as you lower your chest away from your knees during a crunch you get only half the ab-toning benefit! To get the firmest abs possible, you need to sustain the contraction on the way down.

4. Super-Sculpt Your ButtGet great glutes by targeting the muscles and connective tissues buried deep in your body. To hit them, do high-intensity squats, such as jump squats. Then, blast off butt flab with cross-country skiing bleacher running and stair climbing.

5. Take This Jump-Rope ChallengeThe best cardio workout is the jump-rope double-turn maneuver. It's intense: You'll burn about 26 calories per minute! Do a basic jump for five minutes, then jump twice as high and turn the rope twice as fast so it passes under your feet twice before you land. This takes timing, patience and power. But you'll get in great shape just by working at it.
( I research all the workout tips above, try them and comment below to share your experience.)

Until next time

Summer is arriving!!

Hey viewers, so I'm up doing a little late night blogging!

Summer is around the corner, what do you guys love most about summer? I love the colors fashion offers. During winter months color is accepted but summer is where you can wear NEONS. Oh, how I love to dress in neon colors. Just like its rules to fashion, there are rules for neon colors.

Rules for neons:
1. Don't wear neons colors together in one outfit. Example: Neon yellow shirt, neon green short, and neon pink footwear. A fashion " no, no"

2. Wearing the same color neon. Example: Neon green shirt, skirt, and footwear. Way to much!

3. Neon accessories can work well during the summer months. Example: An all white or all black outfit with neon a accessory. A clutch, bracelets, earrings etc.

Check out neons garments and accessories below. Please don't forget the rules.

Until next time.

Met Gala 2013

Hello Loves,

Did you guys watch the red carpet event? For the Met Gala?? Fashion, Fashion, and more Fashion.

Ok so I know the Met Gala was a few days ago! But I had to talk about it. To my favorites to the worst in my opinion.

This is one of my favorite parts of the year. To look at the television and see who's wearing what. To visualize different shoes or jewels the celebs should of worn different or even visualize other dresses to see what fits their body perfect!

The designers play a huge role "of course" Not only do the designers such as Valentino, Givenchy, and plenty more make customize garments for special celebs but they put there best pieces forward to showcase their new collections. I love to watch and take notes. From lace, sheer, satin-silk, and decor of the sleeve. I pay attention because fashion does repeat itself. Ok let's get to the best and worst of the night!

The Best dressed

1. Anne Hathaway- Wow! Anne does it again. Every time Anne walk the red carpet for a event she looks amazing! The decor on sleeve blew me away with sheer!
Dress- Valentino

2. Sarah Jessica Parker- Clap! Clap! Bravo!! The headpiece literally turned heads. The print on the dress complimented her headpiece and she just look fresh and stunning. Go SJP.
Headpiece - Phillip Treacy
Dress- Giles Deacon

3. Kristin Stewart- LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Why not be different everyone has on a gown and she came with a sleek jumpsuit. The lace detail from the shoulder to the ankle was extremely amazing. The color red/burgundy was a brilliant idea. Color goes long way. Stewart pull the jumpsuit off with a push back hairstyle, no jewelry, a simple clutch and dramatic eye make-up.

4. Okay, maybe you guys won't agree with me but Kim Kardashian actually made my best dress list. A lot of media slandered her dress. But let's be truthful didn't she look like a amazing pregnant women? The print look astonishing on her. I have to admit a lot of pregnant women can not pull off a print and floral at that! With the matching shoes and gloves. Go Kimmy.
Dress- Riccardo Tisci

The Worst Dressed

1. Madonna- Ok even though it was a punk rock theme, and don't get me wrong it is a punk rock look but NOT for the Met Gala!! No Madonna No. Completely failed.
Givenchy
Casadei Shoes

2. A lot of people was in love with Miley Cyrus look but I wasn't so sure about it! Again she has a punk rock look but you can do a punk rock look a classy way. The hair was totally punk rock as well. Not my favorite. But she was in my favorite designer.
Dress- Marc Jacobs

3. Katy Perry- I just want to be honest with my audience and I just was so shock when I saw her and said to myself "what the hell" even though Katy was in Dolce and Gabbana the dress just didn't work for her. The length of the dress was way to long for Katy. Then she top the look of with a crown. Totally unacceptable! But I have to say the print and the detail on the dress was very upscaled and looked like mosaic.
Dress- Dolce and Gabbana

4. Beyonce- Seriously! The last Met Gala's Beyonce gowns were simple amazing! So why would she come like this? The matching boots was not cute. Everything was all wrong!
Dress- Givenchy

Two other looks that I thought were amazing was Gwyneth Paltrow and Solange Knowles. Very Chic, Classy, and Gorgeous.

Sorry I know this post was long guys. I just wanted to share my opinions with my audience.

Until next time.

Fashion Dont's

Today I will be talking about things that make women look not so flattering. "fashion dont's"

So spring is here and summer is approaching!

1. Bras/ Bra straps showing, for example wearing white tanks, t-shirts, or blouses with colored bras. The worst fashion don't. Its not flattering or classy. be mindful men don't want to see a coral (any color) bra underneath a white shirt.

2. Leggings/tights- Ugh! So is it just me? I dislike seeing women wearing leggings with a short shirt or jacket. It doesn't look cute. Leggings are made for the gym as workout gear, leggings can be worn with a top but asymmetrical or long sweater ( fall look with high knee boots) or even leggings can be worn as long Johns for a layer in the winter

3. Non- Season clothes. The sun is shining and humid weather. Why should I see ugg boots? People should dress for the season. it's no way I should see a maxi dress, skirts, or shorts with winter with sheep skin boots! NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Check out pictures below!!

Mixed Prints

Hello to all,

Today topic is Mixed Prints!! Trendy or Not? To me can be a trend for this spring/summer. I believe you can mix any print you can but the number rule is make it work. Such as floral prints, two different types of floral print can work. Make it look fashionable by keeping the same color scheme.

Prints that can be trendy together:
- Black and White stripes and polka dots
- Floral Prints
- Animal Prints "Cheetahs and Leopards" "Zebra and Snakeskin" "Houndstooth and Polka Dots"

It may sound a little odd but it can work, and look quite trendy!!....

Until next time...

S.K.I.N. by Sade

Hello to all bloggers, viewers, and first timers.

Today I interview Sade via e-mail. I want to start off by saying what a talented young lady. As I follow her on Instagram her shirts are very creative and speaks for theirselves. Who can ever think a basic tee can be reconstructed into a fabulous tee. "Just Saying"

I describe S.K.I.N. apparel as Bold, Creativity, and Astonishing.

Take a look at the interview below.

1. When did you start your business?

Well I began making shirts for myself about a year ago, but I officially started my business in the beginning of this year.

2. What made you get so creative with shirts?

I always like to be different. I like to stand out from the rest. So one day I went to my grandmothers house to see if she had any shirts she didn't want because she always kept a bunch of t-shirts back in the day. I took all her old shirts, and started thinking of ways to cut them up.

3. What are some of your accomplishments as a designer?

Starting this business and working as hard as I am is a accomplishment for me so far. Being asked different opportunities from people. Getting recognition from people that I never thought would notice my work. Getting such great feedback and support from this has really pushed me to go even harder at what I'm doing.

4. Do you prefer sketching designs or actually constructing them?

I always do sketches here and there because that's just something I enjoy. When it comes to my shirts though I'd rather construct them right then and there. It comes so naturally to me.

5. What are your favorite colors to work with and why?

My favorite colors to work with would have to be bright colors hands down. It just really gets me excited! Idk, maybe because I'm a summer baby lol

6. Where can readers find out more about you and your work?

I mainly post my work on my Instagram so they can find it there and my website of course.

Instgram: SadeJennine
Website: skinnnapparel.bigcartel.com

7. Describe the general process you go through to design and realize a piece of clothing. ( Don't tell everything as a designer you keep something's to yourself) lol

I honestly don't go through a certain process. I just sit there look at the shirt and designs just start popping up in my head lol it really comes so naturally for me. Sometimes I like to listen to music because for some reason certain songs inspire my designs. Sounds weird, but it does.

8. What does fashion mean to you?

Fashion to me means to BE YOU. Wear what you love and feel comfortable in it. When you are wearing an outfit you should love it. It should show off your personality in a sense. Fashion has no rules. Yes certain things are said not to be worn together, but wear what you want don't let others tell you what your style should be. As long as you look and feel good then that's all that matters. People who stand out get noticed way before someone that looks like everyone else in the crowd.

9. How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?

It usually takes me about 2 1/2 hours to construct a piece. I'm a perfectionist. I need my work to look exactly how I envisioned it.

10. Where do you see your line S.K.I.N. apparel in 5 years?

In 5 years I see SKIN doing big things. God willing SKIN will be seen everywhere. I don't want to just create shirts. I want to go further in my business. I pray everyday that God leads my business in the right path. That he makes provision for me. He is blessing me more and more everyday. In 5 years I just want to be happy with wherever my business shall lead to. I would love to see my designs on models ripping the runway, in stores, on celebrities ect. I want SKIN everywhere. With Gods blessings great things shall happen for me. I'm just staying humble, and patient along the way.

I must say the interview I had with Sade was very interesting. She is very dedicated about her growing business and "SKIN"apparel is very unique. I would totally rock her shirts. S.K.I.N. apparel can be upscaled vs casual, which I love. She's dope. Everyone please be sure to purchase S.K.I.N. apparel and I'm sure everyone will look well in it.

You can find S.K.I.N. apparel on Instagram and S.K.I.N. apparel website.

- Keep pursuing which you love to do Sade with S.K.I.N. apparel. I know you will make it far with your versatile and unique apparel. I wish the best of luck to you.

Mia Gold Collection

Hello viewers,

Today I will be talking about an up and coming designer. The name of her Collection is "Mia Gold".

The name of the brand is catchy and it drives attention to all fashionistas. The unique way she designs is amazing.

I had a chance to interview Mia via e-mail just to get more from her as an designer and also what goes on behind the photoshoots and into the sewing machine and threads! Take a look.

Interview Below

Blogger: When did you know you were interested in fashion ? How old we're you?

Mia Gold: I became interested in fashion in high school. I went to a performing arts school so I was surrounded by creative people. When I was a sophomore I started making pieces to wear to school because I hated repeating outfits. So I guess you could say it started there. I was 13/14 when I began sewing.

Blogger: Are you a self taught designer or you went and/or going to school for fashion design?

Mia Gold: It's a mixture of them all. My father taught me the basics & I taught myself how to sew from trial & error & picking my father's brain about certain things that I didn't understand. I'm currently in school for fashion merchandising, which is basically learning the retail side of clothing & after I'm finished ill attend a school for fashion design.

Blogger: How will you describe Mia Gold clothing in three words?

Mia Gold: Sassy, chic, & quality

Blogger: What makes your clothing stand out?

Mia Gold: My clothing is custom made. Each piece is made to fit the customer & the quality of clothing is also great because of the care & time I put into each piece. I use unconventional material which sets me apart from other designers who gravitate towards spandex & mesh materials.

Blogger: Where do you see your brand in five years?

Mia Gold: Lord willing, I pray that my business will have taken off & my clothing will show at NY, Milan, & Paris fashion week. I hope to even make custom pieces for people as a fun hobby.

Blogger: Who is your favorite designer?

Mia Gold: Laquan Smith would definitely be one of my favorites. He is so young and has already accomplished so much as a designer. He sets hisself apart from most brands & also custom makes pieces which most fashion designers can't do. His new collection is absolutely beautiful & his craftsmanship is unbelievable.

Blogger: Do you try to send out a message when your making your clothes?

Mia Gold: No, I haven't really thought about that. I can say that I love to create wearable art.

Blogger: What is your inspiration?

Mia Gold: My inspiration would def have to be young women. I want to create quality pieces that still allows them to maintain a certain amount of sexiness without revealing every portion of their body. I want young women to feel beautiful no matter what they are in.

Had a wonderful interview with Mia Gold. She's such a talented designer! I believe you have what it takes in the fashion industry just keep striving through. Good luck with everything and I wish you much success in the industry! Maybe our collections will showcase in London Fashion Week one year. To one up and coming designer to another.

Oscars 2013

Hello Bloggers and Viewers

Hope you guys enjoy my latest posts.

Today I will be talking about the Oscars 2013 even though I'm two days late I just had to put my two sense in about all the gowns and how people were styled.

I came up with five different celebs that I thought looked amazing! It was very hard choosing the number one top look but I manage to go with a elegant look.

Look number 1: Naomi Watts
This dress was well put together and fit her well. The deep cut made the dress meaning it gave the dress personality . Without the deep cut the dress would of looked "blah". With my crazy imagination I can visualize it. The sparkle dress made Naomi look mature. Because usually when you think of sparkle you think about little girls. She deserve the number one spot.

Look number 2: Halle Berry
It was so hard debating between Naomi and Halle although I had to make a decision. But as I'm writing I think Halle should be number one. Halle always looks stunning no matter what she has on or what hair style she is rocking. Let me just say Halle is a good looking women. The dress Halle wore to the 2013 Oscars was costume made by Versace, yes Versace! The structure, design, and the silhouette fit her perfectly! She gave the dress spunk. Job well done Halle!!

Look number 3: Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron look was superb!! She made the peplum top so elegant and chic. I'm not sure if it was a top and a skirt or just a gown. I'm pretty sure it was a gown. The embellish design on the peplum was beautiful! The train made the fabric flow very nicely on the red carpet. Her hair cut was mature and styled nicely. Charlize Theron jewels was very exquisite. The natural look fit well with her gown.

Look number 4: Nancy O'dell
A lot of people didn't speak about her outfit but when I saw it I fell in love. Nancy dress spoke to me. "I might sound a little crazy" but what I mean it gave me life! I love how she took a risk and wore blue. Everyone tried to play it safe and stick to the whites, neutrals, blacks and silvers. But Nancy took risk with a high split. Also, she played with lots of blues! I can tell Nancy is all about fitness cause her silhouette looks stunning.

Finally look number 5: Stacy Keibler
Stacy looked simply but chic. The silvers, blacks, and sparkle. I love the design and abstract of the dress. The back of the dress really won me over.

- I know this was a long post viewers but thanks for reading while I share my thoughts to the world. Come back and see more posts!
